Abstract

This article discusses how the Generative Learning Strategy can be employed to develop mathematical problem-solving skills. It aims to highlight the Generative Learning Strategy as one of the modern strategies used in mathematics teaching and as an approach grounded in constructivist theory, which places the student at the center of the educational process and encourages interaction and the exchange of ideas among students, as well as dealing with problems they may encounter inside or outside school. The article addresses the concept of mathematical problems, their importance, and the steps involved in solving them. It also presents the concept and stages of the Generative Learning Strategy, the roles of the teacher and learner, and its educational applications in mathematics learning. Furthermore, the article emphasizes the importance of integrating the Generative Learning Strategy with mathematical problem solving, as it provides students with opportunities to generate and discuss ideas and explore different approaches to reaching a solution. The article concludes that the Generative Learning Strategy contributes to developing students’ thinking and helps them connect their prior knowledge with new knowledge, thereby enhancing their active participation in mathematical problem solving.
