ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS IN ARABIC LANGUAGE PROCESSING AND TEXT ANALYSIS: A CONTEMPORARY LINGUISTIC STUDY

Abstract

The field of linguistic studies has undergone a remarkable transformation due to the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, particularly in the area of Natural Language Processing (NLP), which has become a fundamental pillar in the development of language applications and digital text analysis. This study aims to explore the applications of Artificial Intelligence in Arabic language processing and text analysis from a contemporary linguistic perspective, with a particular focus on the contribution of modern technologies to the analysis of the morphological, syntactic, and semantic levels of Arabic texts, as well as evaluating their ability to address the structural characteristics of the Arabic language. The study also examines the most prominent intelligent tools and models employed in machine translation, automatic summarization, sentiment analysis, text classification, and information extraction, highlighting their role in advancing linguistic studies and scientific research. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach through the analysis of recent scholarly literature and applied studies related to Arabic language processing. It compares the major Artificial Intelligence applications used in this field in order to evaluate their efficiency and identify their strengths and limitations. Furthermore, the study discusses the key challenges associated with employing Artificial Intelligence in Arabic language processing, including morphological complexity, dialectal diversity, semantic ambiguity, the scarcity of digital linguistic resources, and the challenges involved in developing high-quality Arabic language corpora. The findings indicate that Artificial Intelligence has significantly contributed to the advancement of Arabic text analysis tools. However, achieving higher levels of accuracy requires the development of specialized language models that account for the linguistic characteristics of Arabic, alongside strengthening collaboration between linguists and computer scientists. The study also concludes that the future of Arabic linguistic research depends on the integration of intelligent technologies into various fields of linguistic analysis, thereby supporting Arabic digital content and enhancing its academic and practical applications.
