Abstract

The importance of studying the relationship between emotional behavior and technical performance in the hammer throw among students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences lies in revealing the extent to which psychological and emotional aspects influence the improvement of technical performance in this event. This will contribute to developing integrated training programs that consider the psychological aspect alongside the physical and technical aspects, thus preparing athletes holistically to face the pressures of competition and achieve optimal results. Therefore, the research problem is defined by the following question: Is there a relationship between emotional behavior and technical performance in the hammer throw among students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences? The aim is to identify the relationship between emotional behavior and technical performance in the hammer throw among students. The descriptive approach using correlational methods was employed, as it is suitable for the nature and problem of the research. For the academic year 2025-2026, the study sample was purposively selected from thirty second-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Kufa. This relationship supports the hypothesis that psychological and emotional aspects are no less important than physical and technical aspects in achieving athletic success. The study also suggests integrating psychological and emotional training into sports preparation programs through targeted sessions to teach anxiety management skills. Anger and boosting self-confidence: Further applied studies with larger and more diverse samples of athletes are needed to confirm the strength of the relationship between emotional behavior and performance in various sports.
