Abstract

Eye diseases are a significant public health concern globally, with millions suffering from conditions that, if left untreated, can lead to permanent vision loss. Early diagnosis and preventive measures play a crucial role in managing and mitigating the effects of common eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and diabetic retinopathy. This article explores the importance of early detection through routine screenings, the latest diagnostic technologies, and the implementation of preventive measures to reduce the burden of eye diseases. It highlights public health strategies, the role of genetics, and lifestyle modifications as key components of prevention. By addressing these factors, eye care professionals can significantly improve patient outcomes and reduce the prevalence of blindness worldwide.
